After expulsion from the North Monastery, Jonathan was busy working around pool halls. While he was in the pool hall casting agents spotted him and asked him to come for auditions.
Actually, agents were looking for Irish boys for “War of the buttons” although it passed from him agents have encouraged for his acting career.
In 1994 Meyers had got an opportunity to work for the movie “A man of no importance” as a first young man. Even though this film got no awards, it has given him the opportunity to prove his talent. Later 1996 he appeared in movies named The killer Tongue as Rudolph, The Disappearance of Finbar as Dunbar Flynn and lastly in Michael Collins as Collins ambusher. In 1997 he starred in 2 movies Where he played the role of Josh Minnelli in “The Maker” and Kelvin Boyle in “Telling Lies in America”.
In 1998 Jonathan worked in movies in which one has been nominated for prestigious film awards. He portrayed the role of Brian Slade in “Velvet Goldmine, Henry Cavendish in “The Governess”‘ Bruno in “B. Monkey” and as Adam in “The Tribe”.

Later Jonathan had worked in many other movies, and while I honestly cannot tell the name of each one, just a few of them would tell you about the stature that he is today.

Apart from movies, Jonathan had also appeared in many television shows. From 1996 onwards he is into television films titled Samson and Delilah as young Samson. Later in 2000, he had been part of 4 episodes of Gormenghast which was based on Novel. In 2002 he played the role of George Amberson Minafer in The Magnificent Ambersons. In 2003 he appeared in The Lion in Winter television film as King Philip II.
In the year 2005, he starred as Elvis Presley in Elvis which has been nominated for various awards. From 2007 to 2010 he portrayed the role of King Henry VIII in the film named The Tudors which gained popularity as well as awards. Dracula was a ten episodes television film which aired from 2013 to 2014 where he played Dracula / Alexander Grayson role. In 2016 and 2017 he worked for the television films Roots and Viking.
